This policy explains what the DeepStalker app (βthe appβ) collects, why, and the choices you have. The app is operated by DeepStalker, a company registered in Estonia (βweβ, βusβ). We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
DeepStalker is a fiction game. Every phone, person, message and photo in it is made up. The app never reads, monitors or accesses your phone's messages, photos, contacts or any other real person's device or accounts.
1The short version
- You don't need an account, an email address or a name to play.
- We store your game progress (cases played and solved, clues found, hints and time used) and your purchases, linked to a random app ID.
- We use analytics, crash reporting and attribution services. Tracking across other companies' apps only happens if you allow it in the iOS tracking prompt.
- You can delete your data at any time from Settings β Delete Account.
2What we collect
Data you give us
- Your accusations. The suspect, answer and evidence you pick when you close a case, to check them and show your result.
- Support emails. If you contact us, we receive your email address, your message and the device details the app adds to the email (app ID, device model, iOS version).
Data collected automatically
- Identifiers: a random app ID created on first launch, the iOS vendor identifier (IDFV), a push notification token and, only if you allow tracking, the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Game data: cases opened and solved, clues found, hints used, time played, stars.
- Purchases: subscription status, product, price, country and transaction IDs. Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Usage and device data: screens viewed, taps, session length, app version, device model, OS version, language, time zone, approximate country (from IP address), crash logs.
- Session recordings: Microsoft Clarity may record how you use the app's screens (taps, scrolls, screen contents) to help us improve the design. It is only enabled with tracking permission.
3Why we use it
- To run the game: cases, progress, checking accusations, unlocking Pro cases. (Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.)
- To provide subscriptions and restore purchases. (Contract.)
- To measure and improve the app and the cases, fix crashes and prevent abuse. (Our legitimate interests.)
- To measure which ads brought you to the app (attribution). (Consent through the iOS tracking prompt, where required.)
- To send notifications about new cases, if you allow them. (Consent.)
- To answer your support requests. (Legitimate interests.)
We do not sell your personal data.
4Who we share it with
We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own terms:
- Apple (payments, App Store, push notifications).
- Adapty (subscription management).
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging).
- Adjust and Meta (Facebook SDK) (install attribution and ad measurement).
- Microsoft Clarity (usage analytics and session recordings).
- Our hosting and database providers.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.
5International transfers
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the EUβUS Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6How long we keep it
- Game progress and purchase records: while you use the app, and deleted when you delete your account (purchase records may be kept longer where tax law requires).
- Analytics and crash data: according to each provider's retention settings, typically 14 to 26 months.
- Support emails: up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
7Your choices and rights
- Tracking and notifications: change them any time in iOS Settings β DeepStalker.
- Delete your data: Settings β Delete Account in the app removes your app ID and progress from our servers.
- Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- Email support@deepstalker.com and include the app ID shown in Settings so we can find your data. You can also complain to your local data protection authority; in Estonia that is the Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (aki.ee).
- California residents: we don't sell personal data, and you have the right to know, delete and correct your data and not be discriminated against for using these rights.
8Children
DeepStalker is a story game for players aged 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.
9Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and access to our systems is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
10Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
